Qnext a Winner of Red Herring Top 100 North America Award

Acknowledged As One of the Technology Industry’s Most Disruptive and Innovative Companies

TORONTO — June 27, 2018 — Red Herring has awarded Qnext®, the developer of FileFlex™, a Top 100 North America winner – an acknowledgement of both its disruptive and innovative technology and its ability to succeed in the marketplace – at the Red Herring Top 100 North America event at Marina Del Rey California on June 20.

Qnext was selected as a winner based on a rigorous evaluation process. The method examines technological advantage, level of specialty, IP created through internal R&D, disruptiveness of its solution, financial health, market maturity, international footprint, ability to execute, customers and users, branding, CEO and management team track record, quality and experience, the viability of its business model, technology and degree of innovation, and an event presentation to help verify the quality of the business model and the vision of the CEO.  Choosing the winners is not just an internal process. Red Herring interacts with individual companies at several times prior to granting them an award. Also, Qnext was examined by at least four judges before the conference, and by one or two judges during the event to evaluate its growth/revenue projections and ability to succeed.

This is the same process that Red Herring used to recognize and identify early such companies as Google, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Yahoo, Skype, Slack, YouTube, Instagram, Salesforce.com, Tumblr, Reddit and eBay when they also were just startup innovators.

“I want to thank our partners, investors and tremendous employees for their dedication, hard work and determination to build and commercialize FileFlex – a disruptive content collaboration platform that does not use the cloud,” said Anthony DeCristofaro, president and CEO of Qnext. “We are thrilled and honoured to be recognized as a winner of the Red Herring Top 100 North America award.”

“What has excited me most is to see so many people forging niches in high-tech and cutting edge sectors,” said Alex Vieux, chairman of Red Herring. “Some of the technical wizardry and first-rate business models on show here at the conference has been fantastic to learn about. We believe Qnext embodies the drive, skill and passion on which tech thrives. Qnext should be proud of its achievement: the competition was incredibly strong.”

Qnext is the developer of FileFlex, the first content collaboration platform that provides remote access, sharing and collaboration secured by hardware that is a cloudless solution. Instead FileFlex lets users securely access files and folders from source locations without moving or duplicating them to third parties or secondary locations. FileFlex Enterprise is an advanced solution based on edge technology that can be security hardened at the chip-level. It addresses the real issues of data residency, data sovereignty, privacy, security, file duplication and auditability that are challenges for traditional cloud based solutions.

FileFlex reduces an organization’s security risks by enabling a user to simply and easily provide secure remote access to files from their source locations behind the firewall. Since no files are moved, uploaded, or duplicated, the organization is not at risk of secret access to their data from third parties, and aids government and privacy compliance requirements such as HIPAA and GDPR.

FileFlex includes a powerful Content Collaboration Platform (CCP) capability that does not duplicate or sync content to a secondary location or third-party server. Activity tracking, audit trail, version control, file locking, a unified workflow across devices, and simple, secure access make individuals and teams more productive and protects company information. The solution gives a significantly reduced threat surface, a simplified storage structure and governance, risk management and compliance (GRC) under company control. It supports AES 256 encrypted hybrid point-to-point communication, two-factor authentication, active directory integration, and activity log for operation and incident management.
